B-Rated
Ep. 4 - Gremlin
B-Rated is a 3-minute segment created for Nerd Central to review the free to watch B-movies included on Amazon Prime.

The intention of B-Rated was to inform and entertain audiences about the movies that most people are too scared to watch. This series went on for two seasons on Nerd Central before I had to conclude the series when I became producer. B-Rated won Best Entertainment Package two seasons in a row in KNWT's annual awards.

This specific episode of B-Rated won 2nd place in the animation category in the 2021 College Media Association Awards

Reserving Study Rooms
The purpose of this video was to inform students about using study rooms and how they can reserve one. My creative intention was to turn a simple video guide into an '80s infomercial.
started the process by gathering the necessary information that the client wanted to include in the video. Then I began brainstorming themes and drafting scripts. After the script was approved, I held auditions for the host and ensemble. Once the cast was decided, I began organizing schedules and putting together a shot list. Filming took place over the course of a week and a half and then I began editing. The editing process drew lots of inspiration from old infomercials and incorporated many wipes and iris transitions.
The biggest challenge I ran into with this video was the loss of a cast member. On the first day of filming, the lead actress who I had chosen for the role of Host got Covid. I adapted by promoting one of the other actors to the host role and reorganizing our filming schedule.

The Quest for the Specific Journal
The purpose of this video was to show students how to find a specific journal that their teacher wants them to use for projects or other educational purposes.

I used this video as an opportunity to teach myself how to use Illustrator more efficiently by animating the entire video. I put a fantasy twist on the instructions of the video to make the tutorial more entertaining. By concluding the video with the brief tutorial at the end, the information is still there, but it is presented in a manner that is more entertaining.
Below are two documents that show the original content I was required to include and the resulting script. When displayed side-by-side, you can see how each piece of instruction was actually included in the original story told by the Guide of Heroes.
For example: the instruction, "click Journal Titles," takes the user from the library home page to a new website where they enter the name of the journal that they are looking for. This piece of instruction translated into the sript as "Choose the appropriately labeled portal to transport you to a new realm. There, you can search for the specific journal you seek."

Roughly 400 hours of illustrating and editing went into this project, but the end product is something I am extremely proud of.
